The hollows of the easy-to-clean polystyrene mat can hold up to 3 litres of water per square metre, protecting melamine surfaces from becoming saturated, swelling and eventually breaking down due to leaking pipes, fittings, or cleaning agents. Sold separately is a flexible sealing profile which should be mounted on three sides to provide additional protection.
